Because Erica & Smith’s wedding was so imprompteu (they planned on getting married in July, but then moved it up to May), their ‘engagement’ session was actually after their wedding. But hey, it actually allowed us to get down and dirty and have fun with it, with all the stress of the wedding day being passed them!
Our beautiful location was the Coronado Butterfly Preserve in Santa Barbara, California.
I love how this location has a forest-y look to it, especially being so close to the ocean, but then totally transforms from one part to another. These two were total naturals, which I wouldn’t have expected from Smith, who is a wedding photographer, himself (personally, I much rather be behind the camera than in front of it, but he had so much fun with it!)
I just had to photograph the two of them in this field. They ‘popped’ in this field and it’s just so rustic! Love it!
