“We’re glad to be together and have adventures together all our life.”
While Gil+Clarissa may come off as shy, they are so extremely personable, relaxed and comfortable to be around. From day one of meeting them months and months ago, they have been on top of their wedding planning, and have had a very clear vision of what they want for their special day. They’re both very artistic, and I was highly impressed with Gil’s wedding invitation! With so many creative juices flowing, their wedding decor and set up is bound to be spectacular, just like them!
The Santa Barbara Courthouse is a really obvious and popular choice for any photos in Santa Barbara. I really enjoyed adding La Arcada in to the mix.
From the couple, “We both studied design and art history in college and were drawn to the tile work and architecture of the Courthouse. La Arcada has a great look as well, and really captures Santa Barbara. We wanted to have some not-so-traditional “street” shots, and to look romantic, fun, artsy, and modern.”
La Arcada is definitely an architect’s dream backdrop!
More and more I’m seeing a break from the traditional diamond in wedding rings. It’s a refreshing change!
When asked about the proposal, here’s what Clarissa shared: “Gil completely surprised me with the perfect proposal! I had been wanting to go to more concerts and have more LA adventures so we got tickets to see Willie Nelson at the Hollywood Bowl. I’m originally from Texas so I was really excited to see Willie, a Texas legend, in LA. We packed a great cheese and wine spread and enjoyed the show. I remember Gil being unusually quite that night. During Willie’s version of the song “I Saw the Light” Gil proposed. I was completely surprised and overjoyed. He did great 🙂 We are sending Willie Nelson a wedding invitation!”
This area really does have such a unique and timeless feel…
From Clarissa: “I’m looking forward to seeing all of the planning and details come together. It’s going to be so brilliant and pretty! We’re both really excited to celebrate! All of our family and friends will be traveling for the wedding, some from LA, my family from Texas and Gil’s family from NYC, so we’re happy and excited to have everyone together. We’re glad to be together and have adventures together all our life.”
