When you know, you know! And when you get asked to join two lovebirds on a trip to Costa Rica to document their love in the gorgeous landscapes this country has to offer, you say ‘absolutely!’ (Pre-Covid, of course). Maisa and Gui’s La Fortuna Costa Rica engagement photography photoshoot started off at the Arenal 1968 Trail. We scouted this location and were all in awe with the view–I mean, really, an active volcano is pretty spectacular–we just knew we had to start off their Costa Rica engagement photographs here!
This location had 360° of gorgeous views–with these two especially, there was no such thing as a bad angle. 
While the drizzle came and went throughout the day, the wind really added that special flare to Maisa’s beautiful hair, making this La Fortuna Costa Rica engagement photography photoshoot extra romantic.
Always remember to take in the views, particularly when traveling. 
Maisa was marveling at the view, taking it all in, when I asked Gui to softly call her name. She turned around, and we created this magical photograph together.
True laugh out loud moments are the best 💕 Maisa and Gui were so easy to photograph, being so laid-back and comfortable not only with each other, but also with themselves. It made for an effortless day of just capturing what these two do best together–Adventure and have fun while doing it!
After wrapping things up at Mirador Volcán Arenal, we headed back to our hotel, and discovered this amazing pathway. Costa Rica’s beauty is truly everywhere. It may have been drizzling, but that didn’t stop Maisa and Gui from snuggling up and enjoying the moment.

Monteverde Costa Rica Engagement Photography » Karen D Photography[…] When life gives you rain, you might as well go dance in it (as long as it’s warm, ha!)! That is what Gui and Maisa did during their Monteverde Costa Rica engagement photography photoshoot. Rain or shine, these two rocked all our photoshoots throughout our trip to Costa Rica to document their love (Pre-Covid, of course). We spent the morning at the Selvatura Park in Monteverde. The walkways throughout the park allowed us to immerse ourselves in the forest, and enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds. The suspended trees above the treetops allowed us to enjoy the biodiversity of the cloud forest from above the forest canopy, and to give us a unique perspective and vantage point. Both intertwined to result in unique engagement photos. Of course while we were adventuring at the Selvatura Park, we also took the time to take in all the sights, smells and sounds. There was something so special about being in the midst of a living, breathing forest, surrounded by nature’s energy, with barely any other people around. The air vividly felt cleaner and fresher (especially coming from Los Angeles!), and being immersed in this habitat undoubtedly had an instantaneously calming effect. While we got more rain than clouds in the cloud forest itself, as we were heading back into town the clouds started rolling in. Watching them engulf the city streets, which had been completely clear a few moments ago, was quite the sight to see.
