Santa Barbara El Presidio Engagement Photos – Karen D Photography

For Tamie & Joe’s engagement photographs we headed to the El Presidio in Santa Barbara. They wanted a rustic feel, but also a location that would fit in with their Santa Barbara-style wedding, that would take place at the Santa Barbara Courthouse’s Mural Room. The El Presidio was really a great choice to complement the Courthouse and keep a consistent flow to all their photos. While photographing the two of them, I learned from Tamie (who learned from her hair and make-up artist, who studied architecture) that until not too long ago (don’t ask me how long ‘not too long ago’ actually is!) the El Presidio was the tallest building in Santa Barbara! This was one of the last few shots of the day. We had to do it really quickly because we did something we weren’t supposed to do (I’m totally not going to incriminate myself by saying what we did!), but we had just enough time to take this beautiful, romantic photo.
