Beach Engagement Session Photos – Karen D Photography

Having studied at UCSB for a year, Laura, an England native, really wanted to have Santa Barbara serve as her destination wedding’s backdrop. Although her and Chris opted not to have their ceremony on the beach, they absolutely did want beautiful photos on the beach, so we planned their engagement session for Goleta Beach, close to Isla Vista, UCSB’s playing grounds…

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Although it was a cold and gloomy day, Chris and Laura were happy to be enjoying each other’s company (and mine??) at the Goleta Beach.

I saw this shell while we were waiting for Chris to grab something from the car, and couldn’t resist using it as a prop for the ring shot. The perfect prop for this shoot’s setting!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As the sun set, we snagged a few more photos, while our freezing bodies would still allow it!

 

Laura & Chris complained there was no way their photos would turn out like ‘all the other American couples–smiling and laughing and looking so natural’–I would disagree, wouldn’t you?!
