“He started getting nervous and the next thing I knew, he was on one knee!  I really don’t remember anything he said, but it was the sweetest moment of my life.”

Robert+Andrea got married on a warm September day at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Mural Room. Based on their calm and laid-back demeanor from having met them and photographing their engagement session, I knew their wedding day would be the same.

Below is a slideshow from their big day. To view the photographs at your own pace, scroll below. Enjoy!

The two met while working together in the same office.  “During that time, we regularly got coffee and lunch with each other every day.  Eventually our friendship turned into a romance!”santa-barbara-courthouse-7santa-barbara-courthouse-8santa-barbara-courthouse-9santa-barbara-wedding-photographer-1

“Robert is now wearing his father’s wedding ring, which was his father’s before him.  We had a beautiful engraving put in, which made it all the more special.”

Andrea+Robert’s decision to get married in the Mural Room was a sentimental one…”We chose the Courthouse because, first of all, it’s absolutely beautiful!  Second, Robert’s parents were married in the same room over thirty years ago, so it’s a very special place within the family.”santa-barbara-mural-room-courthouse-2santa-barbara-mural-room-courthouse-3santa-barbara-mural-room-courthouse-5santa-barbara-mural-room-courthouse-6

The architecture of the Courthouse is one of the many reasons why it draws so many visitors and weddings, so it was important to incorporate it into the photographs.

Robert proposed at Heisler Park in Laguna Beach. From Andrea,  “We had just gotten into town for a long weekend and were walking around.  I was looking at a sea urchin sign and Robert pulled me away with an unusual sense of urgency.  He started getting nervous and the next thing I knew, he was on one knee!  I really don’t remember anything he said, but it was the sweetest moment of my life.”santa-barbara-mural-room-courthouse-22santa-barbara-mural-room-courthouse-23santa-barbara-mural-room-courthouse-24santa-barbara-mural-room-courthouse-25santa-barbara-backyard-wedding-photographer-1.santa-barbara-backyard-wedding-photographer-2.santa-barbara-backyard-wedding-photographer-4

Robert+Andrea celebrated their reception in Robert’s parents’ back-yard in Santa Barbara, “We picked a backyard wedding, because we wanted something laid-back, relaxed, and fun!”santa-barbara-backyard-wedding-photographer-5santa-barbara-backyard-wedding-photographer-3santa-barbara-backyard-wedding-photographer-6

Robert+Andrea’s favorite part of the day was “seeing all of our friends and family, from both sides, get together, mingle, and be there in support of us.  We didn’t know how overwhelming it would be (in a great way!) to have all of those we loved there.”

Congratulations Andrea+Robert!
