“I get to see how happy I make Kerry and see her glowing smile and that makes me the luckiest guy in the world.”

Energy. Laughter. Fun. Easy-going. This is how I would describe Eric+Kerry, and, of course, our Camarillo engagement photoshoot was just that. The duo’s love for the outdoors played a large role in picking this location for their engagement photos. The fact this is literally in their backyard also helped!

So how did the two meet?

“We met in our last semester at Chico State at one of our favorite local bars ‘The Bear.’ One of our mutual friends was out that night and had invited both of us out to join him. The Bear was having a “stoplight” party, which meant all the single people were supposed to wear green, all of the people that were taken were supposed to wear red, and yellow meant that person didn’t know if he or she was in a relationship or not. I had a bad day and wasn’t in the mood to deal with creepers hitting on everyone wearing green, so I decided to wear grey… Thankfully Eric was wearing green! We talked and hung out for the rest of the night and the rest is history!”

And how did Eric propose?

“Eric blew the surprise early on because he’s not a very good liar (great for me!). So from the time the surprise was revealed and when he proposed, 6 months passed. He and I still wanted a special moment. When he figured out what to do, he promised to not talk about it and I promised not to pry! I am a huge Disney fan and a group of us decided we wanted to go to Disneyland for the Diamond celebration. When we got to the castle some of our friends said they really wanted to take pictures in front of the castle. When they were done Eric and I took pictures and I was wondering why everyone had their phones out. Made a lot of sense when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! About 30 seconds later my best friend from college came running over to me! Eric had planned for her to come as a surprise because he is that amazing.”camarillo-photographer-1camarillo-photographer-6

camarillo-photographer-2Kerry+Eric incorporated a little something personal and special in to their engagement session…”We brought our “Bear” shirts to the session since that was where we first met and it is a shirt that really represents Chico and Chico State. We are both very proud alumni!” camarillo-photographer-3

Considering how rare it is for the weather to actually feel like fall, I took this opportunity to use one of the leaves that had fallen for a fun fall ring shot.

So what are the two most looking forward to on their Elings Park wedding day?

Kerry: “I am most looking forward to marrying my best friend and the most wonderful guy I have ever known, and having all the people we care there to join us.”

Eric: “I am really looking forward to just enjoying the moment with all of my family and friends. I get to see how happy I make Kerry and and see her glowing smile and that makes me the luckiest guy in the world.”
