Brian & Diana had their beautiful March wedding at The Vineyards in Simi Valley, California. Having met them several times previously, including for their Ellwood Butterfly Preserve engagement session, I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of such a sweet and kind couple’s wedding day. Read more about it below!
He was pacing in the small, dark room, and didn’t make eye-contact with anyone present. Although someone made a quip to relieve some tension, Brian either didn’t hear him, or was too nervous to pay attention. I wasn’t quite sure if he had noticed I walked in. I asked him how he was feeling. He looked up and mustered a weak smile. ‘Nervous?’ I asked. He quickly nodded his head in affirmation. After a few seconds of thought, he added he wasn’t nervous about celebrating his love with Diana, but that he was nervous about the upcoming ceremony, in front of all their guests! After a few deep breaths and a few minutes to collect himself, Brian, his immediate family and we photographers, headed outside to begin capturing this beautiful wedding day.

While we waited for Brian to cool his nerves, we grabbed detail shots. As a Do It Yourself (DIY) bride, Diana did an excellent job creating her own elegant wedding decor.
As Diana told me, if you’re going to do a dessert bar, do it right! From brownie bites and Godiva cookies to traditional Peruvian desserts, this sweet-tooth couple made everyone wish dessert would come faster (Not really…the food itself was excellent!)!
To get our groom relaxed and camera ready, we started off with a few group photos of him with his family.
Handsome groom…
Diana’s stunning wedding dress was perfectly hung up and ready to be photographed as we walked in.

Capturing Father Daughter First Looks is a sweet trend finally gaining momentum!
During the ceremony, Brian was a nervous wreck (in a totally adorable way!)……

Next came the bride and groom portraits at The Vineyards…
Diana’s white-rose bouquet helped accentuate the simple and classy feel of their wedding day.
When I saw the parasols provided for the guests for the ceremony, I knew we just had to use them during our bride and groom photos–it rained right up until our engagement session, which had been scheduled for months, and Diana and Brian drove from Irvine all the way to Santa Barbara for. We decided to take on the rain and get creative with it, so we ended up using a large umbrella to our advantage. Clearly, it was destiny that the venue provided parasols for the wedding ceremony!
These Pisco Sours (Peru’s national drink) made my heart happy. Having just come back from my travels to South America, I was ecstatic to see Diana incorporated her family’s Peruvian traditions into her and Brian’s special day.
Brian & Diana were absolutely adorable during their formal Introductions!
Bouquet and ring shots…
Bride and Groom’s First Dance as husband and wife!
We finished up with a few romantic photos at the beautifully string-lit Vineyards’ gardens, after which Brian & Diana danced the night away!
Congratulations Diana & Brian!
