“Every daydream I had about my future had him in it. When I thought about building a life together and a family, he was always there. People always talk about their ‘better half’, I think when you find someone you want to be with forever, they really do become such a part of you that without them around, it would seem like half of yourself was missing. He is definitely my better half.”
Wow. Ashley and Taylor were definitely made for each other. From the way they looked and touched each other, to the way they spoke about and to one another, and the way their family and friends spoke of them and their love, it’s clear these two have found their other half.
The day started with getting ready photos, then the duo’s first look at the Coronado Butterfly Preserve, followed by their Glen Annie Golf Club wedding ceremony and reception. The day could not have been more perfect.
When I walked in to find out Ashley had created ALL the florals (bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, etc.) I was in awe! Everything looked amazing! So you’ll have to excuse the slightly obsessive display of these beauties and the other wedding details (wait until you see the dress!)…I asked Ashley if there was anything special she chose to include in the day:
“I wore my Grandmother’s pearl bracelet which was super special to me. That and my blue shoes, which were just super fun! ” Indeed they were!!Ashley’s look was absolutely flawless. From the fantastic gown, to her beautiful hair and makeup, I couldn’t stop Ooo’ing and ahhh’ing (and neither could Taylor!).
Time for the couple’s First Look!
I asked Ashley what her favorite parts of the day were…
“The first look was really special. Taylor teared up instantly and it was so sweet to see. It was such a great moment for us to share before the craziness of the day began. That and at the very end of the wedding when the last song ended, everyone who was on the dance floor got in one giant group hug around me and Taylor. It was sweaty and suffocating but so SO sweet and special.”
The bride with her bridesmaids…
The duo had to have a natural setting with lots of trees, and so we decided on the Coronado Butterfly Preserve…
“We loved the look of the trees at the Butterfly Preserve for our First Look location, the spot we did it in was just magical. Like our own little forest.”
Groom with his groomspeople 😉And the entire wedding party!
Again, I may have had a little too much fun with Ashley’s wedding details!
Why did Ashley and Taylor choose Glen Annie Golf Club for their big day?
“Glen Annie was such an amazing wedding venue. We wanted a place where we could have the ceremony and reception together and it worked out so perfectly. The patio with the fireplace is such a cute cozy place for the reception and the gazebo is such a pretty backdrop for the ceremony, plus the view!! So pretty. The staff there is amazing and so helpful, we feel so lucky to have found that location for our wedding day.”
Time to for the Glen Annie Golf Club wedding!I asked Taylor what his favorite part of the day was…
“Saying our vows was a really impactful and walking down the isle together is definitely something I’ll never forget.”
I still can’t get over what a fantastic job Ashley did with the florals…
I asked Taylor how he knew Ashley was The One…
“It wasn’t something I noticed, but when friends joked about us getting married it didn’t sound like a bad idea. If I imagined having a family, Ashley was by my side. If we hit a tough time it wasn’t if we would make it through, it was how; because there was no if. “
When I asked Ashley what she loves most about Taylor, this was her response,
“I love how genuine he is. He knows exactly who he is and he is never afraid to be himself. He has a confidence and honesty about him that is so rare these days. Seeing how he carries himself always inspires me. His love is so whole-hearted and sweet, for me and everyone he cares for. He puts himself out there and I have never met a person that didn’t like him. I feel so lucky that he is mine!”
When I asked what was the inspiration for the couple’s big day and if there was anything unique to it, this is what they said:
From Ashley, “We wanted it to be relaxed and fun, basically just a big party! We tried to put as much of ourselves into it as possible. We DIY’ed as much as we could and really tried to make it our own. We just wanted people to enjoy themselves and be there to celebrate with us!”
We had a lot of fun coming up with different projects for the wedding and spent a lot of time making them unique to us!”
Sunset with these two was perfection…
Next came time to dance the night away!We had to sneak in some night-time shots with the full moon!
What is Ashley most looking forward to as a married couple?
“I think I am most looking forward to starting a family with him. I can’t even express how amazing I know he will be as a dad. I am so excited to share that with him and build our lives together.”
And Taylor?
“Honestly all of it. Traveling is fun, owning a house seems like a great adventure and we are both excited about eventually starting a family. But also the little things, getting obsessed over new foods together, holidays and weekend trips, navigating school and careers. It’s all part of the adventure and we get to do it together.”
Congratulations, Taylor and Ashley! Your Glen Annie Golf Club wedding was out of a fairy-tale, and I have no doubt you will have an adventurous and love-filled marriage.
