Wine Cask Wedding | Monica+Robert

“Robert really isn’t the most romantic guy so if he would have set something up with candles and rose petals, his cover would have been blown!”

Monica and Robert married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, surrounded by family and friends who traveled from all over! With a special place in Robert’s heart for Santa Barbara, and specifically the Courthouse, it only made sense for the two to celebrate their union here (more coming on this!). The festivities continued at the romantic Wine Cask Restaurant, where the couple and their guests danced the night away!

Below is a slideshow from Robert+Monica’s big day. To view the images at your own pace and read more about the two and their wedding day, scroll below!

We began the day with photos of the bride and her bridesmaids at the Courthouse. This spot is one of my absolute favorites at the Courthouse!

Robert and his groomsmen looked quite dapper!

The two married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse’s Sunken Gardens on the steps, and the backdrop was absolutely stunning.

After the ceremony we headed inside to capture the iconic Courthouse’s architecture.

When I asked Monica why the two chose the Courthouse as their wedding ceremony venue, she said…

“Robert’s always spoken of his memories spending summer in Santa Barbara at his Great Grandmother’s house. He always made them sound like the best time of his life. A couple years ago we passed through Santa Barbara, my first time, and I could see how in love with the place he was. The courthouse is Beautiful and the architecture reminds him of summer at Grandma’s house. I love that our wedding location was already so meaningful to him and now it’s just one more reason to hold Santa Barbara special.”

One of the most unique attributes I discovered about these two during their La Arcada engagement photo-shoot was their unabashed, whole-hearted passion for one another, and this clearly continued on into their wedding day!

So how did Robert propose?

“Robert really isn’t the most romantic guy so if he would have set something up with candles and rose petals, his cover would have been blown! We went to dinner and went into San Francisco’s Fort Mason to check out the view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We sat on a bench and talked about life and typical stuff. I looked over and he had a ring box in his hand. He asked me to marry him and I asked if he was joking. I was laughing and crying. Best night and so typical!”

The reception commenced at Wine Cask Restaurant, where the atmosphere was dimly-lit and romantic.

The decor at Wine Cask made for interesting bride’s bouquet and ring shots!
